The Calgary Wranglers are the American Hockey League affiliate of the Calgary Flames of the National Hockey League. The team was announced as permanently relocating to Calgary from Stockton, California for the 2022-23 AHL season. The team had been playing out of the Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary, Alberta for the 2020-21 and 2021-22 seasons due to restrictions in place due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The team name was announced on August 4, 2022.[1] The team is the second to use the name as the Calgary Wranglers were a member of the then Western Canada Hockey League from 1977 to 1987 until they relocated to Lethbridge, Alberta where they became the Lethbridge Hurricanes where they continue to this day.
