Alexander Gomelsky CSKA Universal Sports Hall, formerly known as CSKA Palace of Sports, is an indoor arena located in Moscow, Russia. The seating capacity of the arena is 5,500 people. The arena is named in the honor of the late Alexander Gomelsky, former CSKA coach and honorary president.[1]

History[]

The Palace of Sports, that hosts the home games of CSKA Moscow Basketball Club, was completed in the year 1979 during the preparations for the 1980 Summer Olympics, hosted by Moscow, USSR. The arena was used as a venue for the 1980 Olympic basketball tournament there.[2]
