The Buffalo-Glencoe Tondas are a defunct Tier II Junior "A" ice hockey team that played in Buffalo, New York and later in Glencoe, Ontario, Canada. They played in the Southern Ontario Junior A Hockey League.
History[]
Possibly became the Buffalo Jr. Sabres.
The Tondas joined the Southern Ontario Junior A Hockey League in 1973. Their performance was not spectacular and they did not draw well. In early January, 1974, the team was moved to Glencoe, Ontario because of construction at the Tonowanda home rink. They were renamed the Buffalo-Glencoe Tondas.
The Tondas returned in 1974-75, but on October 7th USA Hockey expelled the team because it was comprised of mostly Canadian players. On October 15th, the team filed an antitrust lawsuit against USA hockey, but on October 18th, the OHA barred the Tondas from playing in the SOJHL.
