
Alvin "Buck" Jones (August 17, 1918 – August 23, 2007) was a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman who played 50 games in the National Hockey League for the Toronto Maple Leafs and Detroit Red Wings. He was born in Owen Sound, Ontario.
He played Junior "B" hockey in Ontario in 1936-37 and then moved to Great Britain and played a season for the Harringay Greyhounds. Jones then returned to North America and played 34 games over three seasons for the Detroit Red Wings over three seasons. Most of his time was spent in the minor pros.
In February 1943 he was accquired by the Toronto Maple Leafs and played 16 games for them. Jones then played for the senior Toronto Army Daggers and Kingston Army Frontenacs in 1943-44. The nhext two years were spent in the Canadian military.
In 1946-47 Jones came back with the Tulsa Oilers. He played in the minor pros until 1954 when he finished the season with the senior Nelson Maple Leafs and then retired.
He played in a total of 50 NHL games and scored 2 goals and 2 assists.
