Brent Krahn (born April 2, 1982 in Winnipeg, Manitoba) is a Canadian professional ice hockey goaltender. He was drafted ninth overall by the Flames in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft. Krahn played with the Calgary Hitmen and Seattle Thunderbirds of the WHL before moving on to professional hockey, where he spent time with the San Antonio Rampage, Lowell Lock Monsters, Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights, and finally with the Quad City Flames where he last played professionally. He is currently signed with the Dallas Stars, where he is expected to play behind Marty Turco and Tobias Stefan.
On April 22, 2007, the Calgary Flames called up Krahn from Omaha to back up their starting goaltender, Miikka Kiprusoff, after the Flames regular back-up goalie, Jamie McLennan, received a five-game suspension for a slash on Detroit Red Wings forward Johan Franzen in the final minutes of the Flames 5–1 loss to Detroit in game five of their first-round series of the 2007 Stanley Cup Playoffs. Krahn did not play any minutes in game six, the Flames last of the playoffs due to their 2–1 loss to the Red Wings in double overtime.
The Dallas Stars signed the goaltender in September and assigned him to the Las Vegas Wranglers of the ECHL. This was Krahn's second time with Las Vegas, as he began his professional career in Las Vegas during the 2003-04 season. After 6 starts, posting a 1-4-1 record with a 4.04 goals against average and an .874 save percentage, Krahn was reassigned by Dallas to the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League.
