Robert "Bob" James Dawes (born November 29, 1924 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan – May 26, 2003) was a professional Canadian ice hockey defenceman.
He played junior hockey both in his native Saskatoon and with the Oshawa Generals, winning the Memorial Cup with the latter team in 1943-44.
Dawes began his National Hockey League career with the Toronto Maple Leafs in 1947. He also played for the Montreal Canadiens.
He won the Stanley Cup in 1949 with the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Dawes suffered a compound fracture of the right leg during the last game of the 1951 Stanley Cup Finals and never played in the NHL again. He played sparingly during the 1951-52 season for the Montreal Royals and Buffalo Bisons then coached the junior Galt Black Hawks during the 1953-54 season. He played several more seasons for minor league teams and then coached the senior Kamloops Chiefs and the Yorkton Terriers.
In the NHL, he played in 32 games, scoring 2 goals and 7 assists.
