The Binghamton Colonials were an NCAA Division III men's ice hockey team representing the State University of New York-Binghamton located in Binghamton, New York. The team played as a varsity program from 1987 to 1992. The team played in the ECAC West and State University of New York Athletic Conference. The program was ended after the 1991-92 season. The school was later renamed Binghamton University and became an NCAA Division I program for all sports. The teams are named the Binghamton Bearcats and the school presently has a club team playing in the American Collegiate Hockey Association's Division I in the Northeast Collegiate Hockey League.

When the university was moving to the NCAA Division I level in 1999 the athletic teams were renamed the Binghamton Bearcats and the colors were changed to green and white from the red, white, and blue associated with the Colonials.
