Avenir Centre

The Avenir Centre originally called during construction the Moncton Events Centre is an indoor arena located in downtown Moncton, New Brunswick.  The facility was approved to go forward by the Moncton City Council on March 26, 2014.  Ground was broken in the spring of 2016 on the $100 million project. The facility was ready for the 2018-19 season, originally is was planned to be open for the 2017-18 season.  The facility has 10,000 seats.  The arena replaced the Moncton Coliseum, which opened in 1973, as the primary events venue for the city.  When the arena opened it became the home of the Moncton Wildcats of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. The first event at the arena was a Keith Urban concert on September 12th.
