The Austin Mavericks were a junior hockey team in Austin, Minnesota. They played in the Midwest Junior Hockey League from 1974 to 1977 and then transferred to the United States Hockey League where they played until 1985. In that year they were transferred to Rochester, Minnesota and became the Rochester Mustangs.  The Mustangs franchise would fold after the 2001-02 season.

The city would later get a North American Hockey League team in 2010 when the city gained an expansion team that became the Austin Bruins.
