Arthur Ernest James Somers (January 19, 1902 — January 30, 1992) was a professional ice hockey player who played 222 games in the National Hockey League. Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, he played with the Chicago Black Hawks and New York Rangers. He won the Stanley Cup in 1933 with the New York Rangers.
He played junior hockey for the Winnipeg Young Mens Lutheran Club and the Winnipeg Falcons, winning the Memorial Cup with the Falcons in 1921. Somers then went on to play senior hockey for the Winnipeg Victorias, Winnipeg Falcons, and the Fort William team. He turned pro with the Winnipeg Maroons in 1925-26.
After several years in the minor pros, Somers made it to the NHL with the Chicago Black Hawks in 1929-30. He played two seasons for them and was traded to the New York Rangers in 1931 for Paul Thompson. He won the Stanley Cup with the Rangers in 1933.
He played in a total of 222 NHL games and scored 33 goals and 56 assists.
In 1935-36 Somers played for the senior Prince Albert Mintos and then retired.
He was the coach of the senior Moose Jaw Millers in 1940-41 and the Regina Capitals in 1948-49 and 1949-50.
