The Arizona Sundogs are a minor-league ice hockey team based in Prescott Valley, Arizona that began play in 2006. Participating in the Central Hockey League, the team plays its home games at Tim's Toyota Center. They are rivals with the New Mexico Scorpions, in large part, due to their playoff meeting in 2007, which the Scorpions won in seven games. The Sundogs are signed to a one-year affiliation agreement with the Phoenix Coyotes.

During the 2007-2008 season, the team clinched 1st place in the CHL's Southwest Division. The Sundogs opened the 2008 Ray Miron Presidents cup defeating the New Mexico Scorpions 4 games to 2. They then defeated the defending southern conference champion Laredo Bucks 4 games to 3. The Sundogs then swept the defending league champion Colorado Eagles 4 games to nothing, winning the CHL championship in only their second year of existence.

The team announced on August 21,2014 that operations were being suspended immediately.  The membership in the league has been retained.  Team ownership and the CHL were hoping that the team would be able to return to the ice in the city hopefully as early as the 2015-16 season.

The team is named after the Sun dog, an atmospheric phenomenon primarily associated with the reflection of sunlight by small ice crystals making up cirrus clouds. It appears like there are two suns in the sky, one right next to the other. This explains the twin suns inside the "S" of the SunDogs logo.
