Anders Lindbäck (born on May 3, 1988 in Gävle) is a Swedish professional ice hockey goaltender.[1] He is currently playing with the Jokerit in the KHL. He was selected in the 7th round, 207th overall by the Nashville Predators in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.

Playing career

Lindbäck began his junior career with the Brynäs IF organisation. In the 2005-06 season, Lindbäck was put on the Brynäs IF of the Elitserien roster, he was a second goalie in a few games, but did not play a single minute. Same thing happened in the 2006-07 season.

Lindbäck was loaned out to the Almtuna IS of HockeyAllsvenskan for the duration of the 2007-08 season and played there 18 games, thus making his senior debut.[2] In this season, he also was a second goalie in a few games with the Brynäs IF of the Elitserien and with the junior team of the Brynäs IF.

The 2008-09 season was Lindbäck's last junior season. He played 3 games with the Brynäs IF junior team and 24 regular season games plus 3 play-off games with the Brynäs IF of the Elitserien.

On March 25, 2009 Lindbäck signed a contract with Timrå IK of the Elitserien with the intent to play for the team during the 2009-10 season.

In May, 2010, Lindbäck signed a two-year entry level contract with the Nashville Predators of the NHL. In his first North American season, Lindbäck played 22 regular season games and 1 play-off game with the Predators and 4 games with the Milwaukee Admirals of the AHL.

In the next season, he played 16 games with the Predators and 2 games with the Admirals.

During the 2012-13 NHL Lockout, Lindbäck played with the Ilves of the SM-liiga where he played 13 games. After the lockout, Lindbäck finished the season playing 24 games with the Tampa Bay Lightning of the NHL.

Lindbäck stayed with the Lightning organisation for the 2013-14 season. He played 23 regular season games and 4 play-off games with the Lightning and 2 games with the Syracuse Crunch of the AHL.

Lindbäck began the 2014-15 season with the Dallas Stars organisation. He played 10 games with the Dallas Stars of the NHL and 7 games with the Texas Stars of the AHL. In the middle of the season was Lindbäck traded to the Buffalo Sabres where he finished the season with 16 games played.

In the 2015-16 season, Lindbäck played with the Arizona Coyotes of the NHL. He played there 19 games.

Then he began the 2016-17 season with the Ontario Reign of the AHL. He played there 4 games before moving back to Europe where he signed with the Rögle BK of the SHL (formerly Elitserien) for the remainder of the season. He played 23 regular season games and 4 relegation games with the Rögle BK.

In 2017, he returned to his old NHL club, the Nashville Predators. He played 56 games with the Milwaukee Admirals of the AHL and was also the second goalie in a few Predators' games, but he did not get on the ice.

In 2018, Lindbäck signed with the HC Davos of the NL where he spent the 2018-19 season.

Since 2019, Lindbäck is playing in the KHL. He played with the Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod during the 2019-20 season and in 2020, he signed a one-year contract with the Jokerit.

International career

Lindbäck played as a member of the Swedish National Team at the 2010 World Championship where he won the bronze medal.
