The Amherst Ramblers were a senior and a junior team.

The senior team dates back to the 1920's and often played in the Maritimes' Central Section. They also played in other leagues from time to time.

They won the Maritimes Senior Championships in 1959-60, 1960-61, and 1961-62.

They entered the 1959-60 Eastern Canada Allan Cup Playoffs, the 1960-61 Eastern Canada Allan Cup Playoffs. and the 1960-61 Eastern Canada Allan Cup Playoffs.

The 1960-61 team is a member of the Nova Scotia Sports Hall of Fame.

Amherst Ramblers

The junior team has played since the 1930's. They won the Maritimes Junior Championship in 1943-44 Maritimes Junior Playoffs. They could not enter the 1943-44 Eastern Canada Memorial Cup Playoffs because they could not raise a financial guarantee for the Montreal Junior Royals to travel east.

The Amherst Ramblers, coached by Bill Riley, won their only league title in 1989-1990.

From 1994 to 1998 the team was named the Amherst Mooseheads after the beer.
