Almtuna IS is a professional ice hockey team based in Uppsala, Sweden. The team plays in the Allsvenskan since 2003.
Almtuna IS was founded on August 9th 1932; the ice hockey section was created in 1947. In the 1980's, the club closed its other sections to focus solely on ice hockey. The greatest moments of the team occured in 1962 when it promoted to the highest level of hockey in Sweden (today known as the Elitserien). Their stay in the top level of Swedish hockey only lasted a season, as the team was relegated back the next season. The club renamed to Uppsala/AIS in 1987; it was named Almtuna IS again from 2000 on.
