Alexei Smirnov (born January 28, 1982 in Tver, U.S.S.R.) is a former Russian professional ice hockey player.
Playing career[]
Smirnov was drafted 12th overall in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft by the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim. He played 52 games for the Mighty Ducks, scoring 3 goals and 3 assists in the 2002-03 and 2003-04 seasons.
He spent the 2004-05 season with the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks, 2005-06 with Avangard Omsk, and 2006-07 with the Long Beach Ice Dogs.
