Alex Grant (born January 20, 1989 in Antigonish, Nova Scotia, Canada) is an ice hockey defenceman for the Jokerit of the KHL. He was drafted in the fourth round, 118th overall, by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.

Grant began his junior playing career with the Antigonish Bulldogs of the MJAHL (Maritime Junior A Hockey League). It was here that he gained recognition, and his progress was followed by scouts in several other junior leagues. On June 4, 2005, Grant was selected first overall by the Saint John Sea Dogs in the QMJHL draft. Following two strong years with the club, his leadership was recognized when he was named captain for the upcoming 2007–2008 season.

Grant has also played an important role on the international scene, representing Canada on several occasions in Jr. World Championships, often bringing home a gold.

On October 27, 2008, he was signed to a three-year, entry-level contract by the Pittsburgh Penguins.[1]
