Albany is the state capital of New York. The city has a population of 194,000 The metropolitan area, including the cities of Schenectady and Troy has about 1,850,000 people.
Albany has hosted the ECAC Tournament from 2003-2010 inclusive.
Albany hosted the 1994, 1996, 1998, 2000, 2004, and 2006 East Regionals, and the 1992 Frozen Four and the 2001 Frozen Four.
The city also hosted the USA Cup from 1990 to 1992, which was a tournament used to showcase American college hockey players and to help prepare the United States team for the Olympics.
