The Aberdeen Knights are a men's senior hockey team that played in the Fort Carlton Senior Hockey League until sometime between 2004 and 2007. The team would play in the Wheatland Hockey League for the 2009-10 and 2011-12 seasons. The team was revived for the 2017-18 season in the Twin Rivers Senior Hockey League.
The team had forfeited a January 27, 2018 game to Birch Hills and then a January 28th game was cancelled. On January 30th the Aberdeen Knights announced that Craig Hartl, a goaltender on the team passed away over the January 27-28 weekend.
The team would be forced to cease operations prior to the 2021-22 playing season when the community rink, the Aberdeen Rec Complex, is closed and put up for sale.[1] The facility was sold in July of 2022 to new ownership that wanted to turn the rink into a high performance hockey centre.[2]
