Playing career[]

Prior to turning professional, Jenks played major junior hockey in the Ontario Hockey League where he played four seasons with the Plymouth Whalers, including winning the OHL championship in his rookie year of 2006-07. In recognition of his outstanding play, Jenks was selected to play in the 2010 OHL All-Star Classic,[1] and also was chosen to compete at the 2010 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships where he won a gold medal with Team USA.[2]

On January 18, 2012, Jenks along with Evgenii Dadonov were traded by the Panthers to the Carolina Hurricanes in exchange for Jonathan Matsumoto and Mattias Lindstrom.[3]
