This is the 2024 Centennial Cup, which is Canada's National Junior A Championship. the event will be held May 9-19 2024 at Sixteen Mile Sports Complex in Oakville, Ontario hosted by the Oakville Blades of the Ontario Junior Hockey League.
Qualifying[]
The tournament will be a ten team tournament for the third straight year with the nine league champions of the Canadian Junior Hockey League member leagues plus the host Oakville Blades. This negates the need for the Fred Page Cup, Anavet Cup, and the Dudley Hewitt Cup. One hundred-twenty-two teams are eligible to qualify for the tournament. As a result of the withdrawal announcement from the Alberta Junior Hockey League to join the British Columbia Hockey League for 2024-25 the five teams were expelled from the AJHL and thus became ineligible to compete in league playoffs and for the Centennial Cup.
Bid[]
The bid being awarded to Oakville, Ontario was announced on May 4, 2023. As part of the same announcement Okotoks, Alberta was announced as the host of the 2025 Centennial Cup.[1] Due to the Okotoks Oilers withdrawing from Hockey Canada the host of the 2025 tournament will be changed.
