This is the 2024-25 State University of New York Athletic Conference Men's hockey season.
Membership Changes[]
- On April 10, 2024 the State University of New York Athletic Conference announced the addtion of the Hobart Statesmen men's ice hockey team, as well as the William Smith Herons women's ice hockey team, and the Skidmore Thoroughbreds men's ice hockey team to the conference for the 2025-26 season. All of the teams would be joining the league from the New England Hockey Conference.[1]
- As part of the May 12, 2023 announcement of the formation of a Women's State University of New York Athletic Conference for the 2023-24 season it is also announced that the Canton Kangaroos men's ice hockey tame will join the men's conference with the 2024-25 season.[2]
- The Brockport Golden Eagles and Geneseo Ice Knights will be joining the United Collegiate Hockey Conference for the 2024-25 playing season.[3]

Conference Tournament[]
Format[]
The top six teams qualify for the single elimination tournament. The 3rd seed plays the 6th seed and the 4th seed plays the 5th seed in the first round. The top seed plays the lower seeded first round winner and the 2nd seed plays the higher seeded first round winner. The semifinal winners meet in the conference final. The conference champion also earns the conference's automatic bid to the 2025 NCAA Division III Men's Ice Hockey Tournament. All games are hosted by the higher seed.
