This is the 2024-25 North Central Hockey League (Alberta) season.

Membership changes[]

  • On September 17, 2024 the Red Deer Rustlers announced they would be folding for the season. The team cited the loss of several key players and the loss of some financial support for the team as the main reasons for the decision. The team indicated that they are planning on applying to re-enter the league for the 2025-26 season.[2]
  • Due to the withdrawal of Red Deer after the league schedule was posted the league removed their games from the schedule and reduced the schedule to 16 games per team from 18 (home and home against each other member of the league) with the top eight teams qualifying for the league playoffs.
  • On May 5, 2025 the Round Lake Bears announced that they would be joining the league for the 2025-26 season. The same post indicated that the team would be based out of Enoch, Alberta.[3] The league would verify this with a post the following day.[4]
  • On June 11, 2025 the league announced that it had accepted the Tofield Satellites back in to the league. Tofield last played in the league in the 2015-16 season following the collapse of the Battle River Hockey League in 2015. The same announcement indicated that the Round Lake Bears had not followed their probational accepteance conditions and were being removed from the league.[6]
