This is the 2024-25 Greater Metro Junior A Hockey League season. This is the league's 18th season.

Membership Changes[]

  • On September 20, 2023 the league president announced that the Windsor Aces would be taking a leave [1] Windsor had already lost a September 16th game 12-2 to the Tottenham Railers and a September 17th game to the St. George Ravens 8-1. The team does not return to the league for the 2024-25 season
  • The Bancroft Rockhounds announced on their facebook page that they were taking a leave of absence for the 2023-24 season on September 29th.[2] The team does not return for 2024-25
  • On March 4, 2024 the league announced the addition of the Ottawa Valley Wolves to the league for 2024-25 season. The team is based out of the Bell Sensplex in Ottawa.[7] The team would not be on the league schedule by the beginning of September.
  • On August 8, 2024 the league announced the Temiscaming Titans would be taking a leave of absence for the 2024-25 season.[8]
  • On October 22, 2024 the Almaguin Spartans ceased operations for the 2024-25 season citing team culture issues within the organization.[9][10]

Russell Cup Playoffs[]

Format[]

All teams qualify. The sixth and seventh seed in the South meet in a single game qualifier to determine the eighth seed and the top two seeds in the North earn a bye to the division semifinals. The division quarterfinals are best-of-three. Teams are re-seeded after the division quarterfinals. The division semifinals are best-of-five. The division final and league championship series are best-of-seven.
