This is the 2024-25 Eastern Legacy Hockey League season. This was to be the league's first season
The league was established on July 1, 2024 with a 2024-25 opening season planned.[1] The league was announced by the ownership of the Niagara Falls Buffalos who were also announced as relocating closer to Buffalo, New York as part of the announcement. The operator's of the league had previously intended to have teams based in Rochester, New York and Syracuse, New York join the American Premier Hockey League for the 2024-25 season but instead opted to start their own league.
On October 23, 2024 the American Premier Hockey League announced the addition of the Buffalo Tempest to the league for the 2024-25 season. The team's roster was made up of many of the members of the former Nickel City Buffalo and would essentially cause the Eastern Legacy Hockey League to cancel its' 2024-25 season or happened after the league collapsed for the season as little information had been released from the league after the start of October.
