This is the 2024-25 Beausejour Senior Hockey League season. The league started play with the 2019-20 playing season. The league is in the footprint of the former North East Senior Hockey League which played from 2010 to 2018.
Membership Changes[]
- On June 9, 2024 the Springhill Coal Miners announced that the franchise would be relocating to Amherst, Nova Scotia for the 2024-25 season.[1] The team will be based out of Amherst Stadium. When the league schedule was released the team was announced as being named the Amherst Ducks.
- On July 16, 2024 the league issued a release stating that the league was adding a new team in the Acadian Peninsula region which would be formed out of the merger of the Shippagan Marchands and the Tracadie Alpines.[2] The team would be named the Péninsule Acadienne Corsaires and would be based out of the arenas that the two teams used before the merger, Centre Réal-Cormier and Arena du Complexe Rev. SA Dionne.
- On July 17, 2024 the River Valley Lumberjacks announced that the team is folding for the 2024-25 season.[3]
- The league will be adding a team in Belle-Baie, New Brunswick called the Rocs de Belle-Baie for the 2025-26 season.[4] Belle-Baie is a new community formed on January 1, 2023 which amalgamated Petit Rocher, New Brunswick as well as several other communities in the area.[5]
- The Amherst Ducks were taken under new local ownership following completion of the 2024-25 season; but, reaffirmed their commitment to the Beausejour Senior Hockey League despite the formation of the Nova Scotia Hockey League for the 2025-26 season.[6]
- On June 16, 2025 the addition of the Fredericton Express was announced to the league for the 2025-26 season.[7] On June 26, 2025 the team issued a post on Facebook stating that they will be splitting their home games between the York Arena, Lord Beaverbrook Arena, and the Grant-Harvey Centre.[8] On June 28, 2025 the league announced the division line-up for the 2025-26 season, which included the announcement that the team was in fact the revived former River Valley Lumberjacks team.[9]
