
This is the 2024-25 Allan Cup Hockey Season. This is the league's 14th season under this name and 34th season overall. The league was previously known as Major League Hockey from 2004 to 2011, Ontario Senior AAA Hockey League from 2003 to 2004 and Southwestern Senior A Hockey League from 1990 to 2003.
Membership changes[]
- On February 13, 2024 the Brampton Buccaneers cease operations. The team had already cancelled a February 10th game against Dundas due to unconfirmed reports of the team no longer being able to play out of the CAA Centre. As a result of the team folding three out of the final four games on the league schedule were cancelled.[1]
- On April 23, 2024 the league announces the addition of a team from Richmond Hill to the league for the 2024-25 season. The team is planning on playing out of the Elgin Barrow Arena.[2] The team would not come to fruition for the 2024-25 season.
On April 17, 2025 Allan cup Hockey announced the addition of the Cambridge Hornets to Senior AAA hockey for the 2025-26 season. The previous incarnation of the team last played for the 2001-02 to 2005-06 seasons while the original incarnation played from 1960-61 to 1986-87 claiming four Allan Cup championships during their existence (1961, 1969, 1971, 1983). The team will play out of the Galt Arena Gardens.[3]

Playoffs[]
Format[]
All three teams qualify for the playoff. The first place team earns a bye to the final. The semifinals are best-of-three. The top semifinal winner advances to the best-of-three final. The playoff champions originally were to advance to the provincial playoff with the winner of the 2024-25 OEHL season playoffs for a spot in the 2025 Allan Cup, but all three league members, as well as the OEHL playoff champion, will participate in the 2025 Allan Cup.[4]
