The 2023 Anavet Cup would traditionally be the western qualifier series for the 2023 Centennial Cup involving the champions of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League and the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League. As a result of the announcement that each of the nine league champions of the Canadian Junior Hockey League would directly qualify for the Centennial Cup tournament thus negating the need for the series.
