This is the 2022-23 Ontario Junior Hockey League season. This is the league's 13th season as a re-established league after the league members played in 2 separate leagues for the 2009-10 season.

Membership changes[]

  • At the end of July, 2020 the Buffalo Jr. Sabres and the league announced that they were taking a leave of absence for the 2020-21 season due to the closure of the Canada-US border. Being the only US-based team in the league, the team's players were to be dispersed to the other teams in the league for the 2020-21 season.[1] They were hopeful to return to play for the 2021-22 season but it would be announced on August 13, 2021 the team would also sitting out the 2021-22 season as well citing the pandemic and cross-border travel.[2] The league would announce that the team would also be taking the 2022-23 season off as well when the league's schedule was released.[3] On January 16, 2023 the team announced that they were returning for the 2023-24 season.[4]

Buckland Cup Playoffs[]

Format[]

The top eight teams in each division qualify for the playoffs with the first place team plays the 8th place team 2 vs 7, etc. in the conference quarterfinals. The Buckland Cup champions advance to the 2023 Centennial Cup.
