League Notes[]

  • with raise in age, no Draft this year.
  • League schedules Prospect Development Camp for July 14th to 18th at the Seven Oaks Arena.
  • MJHL launches first annual Draft Prospect Camp, held in conjunction with the Prospect Development Camp.
  • League partners with InStat Hockey for upcoming events.
  • MJHL announced launch of a spring development program geared towards current Players located in Manitoba beginning April 6th.
  • MJHL announces official partnership with InStat Hockey.
  • League schedules Showcase for November 22-24 in Portage la Prairie at Stride Place.
  • Niverville awarded expansion franchise for 2022-23.
  • Winnipeg to host MJHL-SJHL Showcase in 2022 on January 25-26 at Seven Oaks Sportsplex.
  • League realigns to 2 divisions of six, schedules 324 games, 54 per team. Each team will play 40 games within their division and 14 games outside of their division. The season will begin with 10 weeks of home and home divisional play, followed by six weeks of non-divisional matchups, before moving to a more traditional schedule format in January. Season starts September 17.
  • Subject to Regulatory Approvals, the MJHL will send an all-star team to Sirius Junior World Cup in Sochi, Russia in August.
  • Neepawa MJHL franchise has changed their name to Neepawa Titans.
  • Hockey Canada cancels 2021 World Junior A Challenge.
  • MJHL implements anti-racism player education program.
  • CJHL endorses Portage la Prairie in their request to host 2023 Centennial Cup.
  • MJHL releases playoff format, 3 rounds, all series best of seven, Round 1 – Divisional 1 vs 4 & 2 vs 3, Round 2 - Non Divisional 1 vs 4 & 2 vs 3, and Round 3 - League Championship.
  • MJHL partners with Pan Am Concussion Program.
  • League to host the Futures Camp, December 27-28 in Niverville. This event is an introduction to the MJHL for U15 junior prospects.
  • MJHL All-Stars to take on University of Manitoba Bisons, January 5th at Wayne Fleming Arena in Winnipeg.
  • CJHL cancels Prospects Game.
  • MJHL / SJHL Showcase cancelled.
  • Niverville’s new Junior A hockey team has a name: Niverville Nighthawks.
  • Hockey Canada cancels ANAVET Cup, MJHL Champion goes directly to Centennial Cup.
