
The 2020 Telus Cup was to be the men's Midget AAA national championship of Canada. This was be the 47th edition of the tournament.
The event was to be hosted by the Saint-Hyacinthe Gaulois. The winning bid was announced on October 16, 2018.[1]
The tournament would be cancelled on March 12th when Hockey Canada announced that all games played under their supervision were cancelled until further notice.
Qualifying[]
The tournament had 149 teams participating in qualifying for this year's edition of which 64 were still participating in qualifying when all events were cancelled.[2]
Pacific Region[]
- The Alberta Midget Hockey League was in its' semifinal round of playoffs when it was cancelled.
- The British Columbia Major Midget League was about to start its' quarterfinal round when the playoffs were cancelled.
Western Region[]
- The Manitoba AAA U18 Hockey League was in its' semifinal round when the playoffs were cancelled
- The Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League was in its' semifinal round when the playoffs were cancelled
- The Hockey Northwestern Ontario playoffs had not started when it was cancelled
Ontario (Central) Region[]
- The Great North Midget Hockey League was in its' preliminary round when the playoffs were cancelled
- The Greater Toronto Hockey League was in its' final series when the playoffs were cancelled
- Hockey Eastern Ontario was about to start its' quarterfinal round when the playoffs were cancelled
- The Alliance Hockey was in its' final round when the playoffs were cancelled
- The Ontario Minor Hockey Association Eastern AAA playoffs was in its' championship qualifying round when the playoffs were cancelled
- The Ontario Minor Hockey Association South Central AAA playoffs was in its' championship qualifying round when the playoffs were cancelled
Quebec (Eastern) Region[]
The Ligue de hockey midget AAA was in the quarterfinal round when the playoffs were cancelled
Atlantic Region[]
- The New Brunswick-PEI Major Midget Hockey League was in its provincial final rounds when the playoffs were cancelled
- The Newfoundland and Labrador Major Midget Hockey League was in its' semifinal round when the playoffs were cancelled.
- The Nova Scotia Major Midget Hockey League was in its' semifinal round when the playoffs were cancelled
