The 2020 NCAA Men's Division I Ice Hockey Tournament is the national championship tournament for men's college ice hockey in the United States in 2020. The tournament involves 16 teams in single-elimination play to determine the national champion at the Division I level of the NCAA, the highest level of competition in college hockey. The tournament's Frozen Four – the semifinals and finals – will be hosted by University of Michigan at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan April 9-11, 2020.
The NCAA announced on March 11, 2020 that all tournament games will be played without spectators.
Cancellation of all NCAA Tournaments[]
On March 12, 2020 the NCAA released the following statement: "Today, NCAA President Mark Emmert and the Board of Governors canceled the Division I men’s and women’s 2020 basketball tournaments, as well as all remaining winter and spring NCAA championships. This decision is based on the evolving COVID-19 public health threat, our ability to ensure the events do not contribute to spread of the pandemic, and the impracticality of hosting such events at any time during this academic year given ongoing decisions by other entities."[1]

The tournament committee will extend 10 "at large" bids to the tournament.
