2020-21 USPHL-Premier season

This is the 2020-21 United States Premier Hockey League Premier League season.

Membership Changes

• On March 27, 2020 the USPHL announced the addition of the Elmira Jr. Enforcers for the 2020-21 season.

• On April 17, 2020 the Anaheim Avalanche, Fresno Monsters, Las Vegas Thunderbirds, Northern Colorado Eagles, Pueblo Bulls, San Diego Sabers, Southern Oregon Spartans, and Utah Outliers were announced as joining the United States Premier Hockey League's Premier League for the 2020-21 season. On April 21st the Ogden Mustangs were announced as joining them. Both announcements indicated that more announcements on teams from the west coast would be coming shortly.

• The Wooster Oilers are announced on May 11, 2020 as returning to the Premier league for the 2020-21 season after the team was sold during the 2019-20 season after previous ownership suspended operations. The team will continue to be based out of the Alice Noble Ice Arena.

• On June 11, 2020 the league announced the addition of the Provo Riverblades for the 2020-21 season.

• The Hingham, Massachusetts based Boston Advantage are added to the league.

• After having sold the franchise rights to the NCDC team to the Philadelphia Hockey Club, the Boston Bandits are sold in December of 2019 and revert to the Bridgewater Bandits name for 2020-21 season which is the name they used from 1996 to 2011.

• In February 2021, the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights announced they would be reactivating their junior teams in the Premier and Elite Divisions of the United States Premier Hockey League.

• On March 2, 2021 the USPHL announced the addition of the Palm Beach Typhoon to the Premier and Elite leagues for the 2021-22 seasons. The team will be based out of the Palm Beach Skate Zone. The team is owned and operated by the ownership of the Northern Cyclones organization.

• In April of 2021 the Chicago Cougars would announce a relocation to the Fifth Third Arena in Chicago from two arenas in the suburbs.

• On April 21, 2021 the league announced the addition of the Lake Tahoe Lakers for the 2021-22 season. The team will be based out of the South Lake Tahoe Ice Arena in South Lake Tahoe, California.

• On May 8, 2021 the league announced the addition of the Lakewood, California based Long Beach Shredders.

• On May 26, 2021 the league announced the addition of the Ontario, California based Ontario Jr. Reign.

• Due to local capacity restrictions on indoor events amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, the Southern Oregon Spartans began their 2020–21 season playing in outdoor rinks and at their home rink with limited attendance. As restrictions increased, the team withdrew from the 2020–21 season after six games played on November 18, 2020. The team also opted out from the 2021–22 season. Their home arena, The RRRink, then opted to not renew their lease with the Spartans in May 2021 and begin seeking a new junior hockey tenant. As a result of this the Spartans franchise folded.
