This is the 2020-21 Asia League Ice Hockey season.

On 2 June the league announced the approval of the addition of the Yokohama GRITS to the league for the 2020-21 season. The team will be based out of the Shin-Yokohama Skating Center.[1]

The league issued a statement on 4 June stating that inter-country play at that point in time would not be possible as restrictions on international travel between the three countries had not been lifted, Japan required quarantine after entry into that nation, and arena restrictions in place. The league was hoping to have a December to April 2021 schedule if the restrictions were lifted. The league members were seeking to organize regional championships with in their nations.[2]

On 8 July a statement was issued reaffirming that the restrictions were still in place and that a January to April schedule was being considered.[3]

On 4 September an updated statement was issued stating that the above restrictions had not been lifted and that they were now hoping for a March to April 2021 abbreviated playing season.[4]
