The 2019 Rathgaber Cup was scheduled to be the Western Region (Manitoba-Saskatchewan) qualifier for the 2019 Allan Cup held in Lacombe, Alberta. But the event would be later cancelled

Manitoba[]

The Ile des Chenes North Stars, Norway House Bruins, Ste. Anne Aces and South East Prairie Thunder were confirmed as playing at the Senior AAA level for 2018-19.

The Ile des Chenes North Stars withdrew in mid-January. Norway House and Ste. Anne met in a best-of-three over the Feb 16-18 weekend in Ste-Anne. The winner played South East is a best-of-three series for the provincial championship (the Patton Cup).

Saskatchewan[]

The Rosetown Redwings are the only registered team at the Senior AAA level in the province of Saskatchewan for 2018-19.

The Bethune Bulldogs, who participated in 2017-18, have announced they are not participating at the Senior AAA level for 2018-19.

Cancellation of event[]

With it being announced that the unused Quebec spot going to the Western region the Rathgaber Cup would not be needed and the Rosetown Redwings (as Saskatchwan's representative) and the South East Prairie Thunder (as Pattison Cup champions) advance directly to the 2019 Allan Cup.

Traditionally, an unused spot in the Allan Cup would go to the host branch. However, the only teams competing for the Pacific region (Alberta-British Columbia) were all from Alberta after it was announced that the only declared team in British Columbia (Kelowna Sparta) would not be completing for the Allan Cup and that would end up having the host team, the Alberta champion, and Alberta runner-up all qualify for the Allan Cup. So the decision was made to give the extra spot instead to the only region that would have had needed an inter-brach playoff for a spot in the tournament.
