The 2019 Alberta Senior AAA Playoffs are the province of Alberta's qualifying tournament for what would normally be the spot in the McKenzie Cup which would have been the final qualifier for the Pacific region spot in the 2019 Allan Cup. However, due to no teams being registered at the Senior AAA level for the 2018-19 season in Quebec and the fact that the tournament is being held in Alberta, it would be the final qualifier for the Allan Cup for teams from the province of Alberta. Traditionally, the unused spot goes to the host branch for the tournament and thus the Pacific Region spot would go to the British Columbia representative the Kelowna Sparta as they are the only registered Senior AAA team in British Columbia. However, Kelowna withdrew late in 2018 meaning that the Alberta champion would now qualify for the Allan Cup.
The former Chinook Hockey League (now Allan Cup Hockey West as of the 2017-18 season) league playoffs have recently served as the province's Senior AAA playoffs as all of the registered teams at the Senior AAA level in the province also have made up the whole membership of the league. But for the 2016-17 season the Rosetown Red Wings who are based out of Rosetown, Saskatchewan joined the league. They opted out of the league playoffs for the 2016-17 season to compete for the Western region Allan Cup berth against the Manitoba champion in the 2017 Rathgaber Cup. But they have competed in the league playoffs in 2018 and 2019.
The Lacombe Generals are already qualified for the 2019 Allan Cup as the host team. If they win the provincial playoffs (if they end up participating), the runner-up will qualify for the Allan Cup tournament and draw a bye to the provincial final.
The remanining two teams, the Innisfail Eagles and the Stony Plain Eagles meet in a best-of-seven series for the provincial spot in the Allan Cup and advance to the provinical final.
