This is the 2019-20 Ligue Nord-Américaine de Hockey season. This is the league's 24th season overall dating back to its' founding in 1996 as the semi-professional Quebec Semi Professional Hockey League. This is the league's 15th season under this name.

Suspension of Play[edit | edit source]

The league issued the following release on March 12th (translated vis Google translate)

"In the wake of the Coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) and the recommendations of the provincial government, the North American Hockey League announced, following a conference call from the owners, that the 2020 playoff schedule is scheduled to begin on Friday evening is suspended for the weekend.
Early next week, following anticipated developments, an assessment of the start of the playoffs will be made as to whether or not to continue the activities.
All necessary information will be published on our digital platforms if necessary."[1]

Membership Changes[edit | edit source]

  • On June 21, 2019 it was announced that the Petroliers were notified that their lease was not being renewed at the Aréna régional de la Rivière-du Nord in St Jerome and that the team would be relocating to Colisée de Laval in Lavalfor the 2019-20 which was approved by the league's board of governors in an emergency meeting. The league approved the moved in an attempt to keep the league at six teams for the 2019-20 season.[2]
