Great Lakes Hockey League

This is the 2018-19 Great Lakes Hockey League season. This is the league's 82nd season.

Season CancellationEdit

The league issued the following release:

On Thursday March 12th, 2020 Great Lakes Hockey League Commissoner Pete Krueger, with guidance from the Wisconsin Amateur Hockey Association and Wisconsin Department of Health Services, made the difficult decison to cancel the remainder of the 2019-2020 season in an effort to protect players and fans from the COVID-19 virus. The League Board of Directors will review the possibility of canceling the league tournament, currently scheduled to be held March 27th-29th, 2020 at the Appleton Family Ice Center, on March 23rd, 2020. [1]

Membership ChangesEdit

  • The Monroe Blues do not return after sitting out the 2018-19 season.

PlayoffsEdit

FormatEdit

All teams participate in a tournament being held March 27-29, 2019 at the Appleton Family Ice Center in Appleton, Wisconsin. The teams are matched up into three pools of three teams with the three pool winners and the highest ranking second place team advancing to the semifinals. The semifinal winners meet for the league championship on March 29.
