The 2018 Coy Cup was held in Williams Lake, British Columbia March 27 to 31, 2018 and was hosted by the Williams Lake Stampeders at the Cariboo Memorial Recreation Complex. Hockey in the Yukon is also played under the sanctioning of the British Columbia Amateur Hockey Association

The Coy Cup is the Senior AA championship for the province of British Columbia.

The tournament traditionally involves four teams playing in a round robin preliminary round with the fourth place team being eliminated from further play. The second and third place teams meet in the semifinal. The semifinal winner plays the first place team from the round robin in the championship game.

Selection of host team[]

Notification of an intent to host was due on August 21, 2017. A formal bid was due on September 1, 2017. Reviews of the bids will be held September 5-14, 2017. The decision was announced on September 22, 2017 on the BC Hockey website.  The only bid made public has been the Williams Lake Stampeders.

Qualifying Teams[]

The host and the playoff champion of the Central Interior Hockey League are awarded spots in the tournament.

The independent West Coast Senior AA Hockey League playoff champion will qualify for the tournament

On October 30, 2017 it was announced that the defending Coy Cup champion Whitehorse Huskies would not be playing this season due to 13 players having other commitments.

On November 22nd, the North Peace Hockey League website announced that the league's two members from British Columbia; the Fort St. John Flyers and the Dawson Creek Canucks would play a best-of-three series.  Dawson Creek won the series (Game 1: January 14 (DC 8-1), Game 2: January 18 (4-3 ot) to determine the area's entrant into the Coy Cup Tournament.

The Kelowna Sparta qualified by winning the West Coast Senior AA Hockey League championship by default when the North Island Capitals forfeited the series that was scheduled to be held the weekend on March 9-11.
