This is the 2018-19 Western Provinces Hockey Association season. This was to be the league's first season. The league was to an off-shoot of the Amateur Athletic Union's Western States Hockey League.
By the time that the schedule was released in mid-August of 2018 the Maskwacis Attack and Slave Lake Dragons were no longer listed as members of what became the Provinces Division of the Western States Hockey League.

- The first six teams were all announced as new organizations.
- The Maskwacis Attack and Slave Lake Dragons were no longer listed as members when a schedule was released by the Western States Hockey League for the 2018-19 season which had the remaining four teams listed as being members of the Provinces Division of the WSHL.
