This is the 2018-19 Metropolitaine Junior AA Hockey League season. This is the league's seventh season. The point totals include "FPP" (Fair Play Points) which are derived from penalty minutes and suspension or lack thereof. The league champion advances to the 2019 Coupe Dodge.

The league expanded its' boundaries with the addition of teams from the Lac St. Louis and Mauricie regions around greater Montreal.

Membership Changes[]

The league lost the Ahuntsic Braves and Rosemont Chevaliers but were pretty much well replaced by the West Royals and East Nationals respectively.

The league added the Aigles Trois Lacs, Cougars Suroit Chateauguay, Trois-Rivières Draveurs, Panthers Lakeshore, National Est, Panthers Nicolet, Phoenix St-Laurent (previously known as Trois-Cites Phenix in LSLJAAHL), Dollard-des-Ormeaux Vipers, and Royal Ouest

The league (along with most junior leagues in Quebec) uses what is called a Fair Play Point which is a bonus point in the standings if the team meets certain requirements in terms of avoiding penalties.

The East Nationals forfeited games on December 15th and 16th, lost a game on December 19th and then folded.

Playoffs[]

Format[]

The 12 remaining teams qualify for the playoffs. Teams are pooled into 4 groups of 3 for the first round which consist of a single round robin. The top team in each pool advance directly to the semifinals. The second and third place teams play in the quarterfinals. The quarterfinals, semifinals and final are single elimination. The semifinals and final are held at the Aréna Michel-Normandin in Montreal March 23-24, 2019.

Laval Regional Qualifier[]

The two Laval based teams play in a best-of-three series for the Laval regional spot in the 2019 Coupe Dodge.

Lac St. Louis Regional Qualifier[]

The four Lac St. Louis region teams compete in a double elimination tournament to decide the region's qualifier for the 2019 Coupe Dodge.

The two Mauricie region teams play a best-of-three series to for the region's spot in the 2019 Coupe Dodge.

Richelieu Reginal Qualifier[]

The region's 2 teams (Richelieu Eclaireurs and  Richelieu Grand Ducs) appear to have two spots in the 2019 Coupe Dodge.  No seperate qualifier appears to be used for this year.  St. Laurent used to qualify via this region for the Coupe Dodge, they are qualifying via the Lac St. Louis region.
