The '1st Czech Ice Hockey League 2017-18 was the 25th year of the second highest ice hockey competition in the Czech Republic. From the previous year of the extraleague to this year the team HC Energie Karlovy Vary was demoted, the team HC Dukla Jihlava advanced to the extraleague. The team HC Most came down from the first league after the 2016-17 season, which was replaced by VHK ROBE Vsetín. The competition was not staged this year and after it ended one team from the second league was added to the competition.

Format[]

14 teams compete in the league, with the top 8 teams at the end of the regular season play play-offs. No final is played. Instead, two teams which win the semifinals advance to the qualifying group against two worst placed teams at the end of the Extraliga regular season. The better of these two teams after the regular season is the champion of the league.
