Memorial Cup Theme Jersey[]

The Red Deer Rebels unveiled their military theme jersey on May 19th on the eve of the first game of the tournament.  The jersey continues a tradition that started in 2008 with the host team wearing a special military themed jersey.  The jerseys are auctioned off after the game and all proceeds go to the Dominion Command Poppy Trust Fund.  The program has raised over $120,000  for veterans since 2008.  The jersey pays tribute to Central Alberta's military presence during the middle decades of the 20th century.  The main facility in the area was the former CFB Penhold.
