Due to the 2016 Allan Cup being held in Steinbach, Manitoba the 2016 Rathgaber Cup was not needed due to the fact that no team from Quebec was participating in Allan Cup qualifying. Traditionally, the host branch would receive the unused bid and the regional bid would go to the team that would have been the final opponent in qualifying.

The South East Prairie Thunder qualified as host team.
The Ile des Chênes North Stars defeated the Manitoba Lightning to win the Pattison Cup as Manitoba Senior AAA champions and advance to the 2016 Allan Cup via the unused Quebec spot in the tournament.
Saskatchewan[]
The Shellbrook Elks advanced to the 2016 Allan Cup as the Western Region representative when the Rosetown Redwings dropped out of qualifying December 1, 2015.
