This is the 2016-17 Sask West Senior Hockey League season.  This is the league's eleventh season.

Membership Changes[edit | edit source]

  • The Unity Miners announced they would be taking a leave of absence from the league some time in October.
  • After being forced to play out of the Unity Community Centre in Unity for the 2015-16 season due to a fire at their home arena; the Wilkie Outlaws return to the Wilkie Community Centre for 2016-17.  However, the team will play their first seven games of the season on the road and then have their home opener on December 16th.

Playoffs[edit | edit source]

Format[edit | edit source]

All Teams qualify.  The first place team plays the 8th place team, 2nd plays 7th, 3rd plays 6th, 4th plays 5th in a best-of-three quarterfinal series.  The highest seeded quarter winner plays the lowest seeded quarterfinal winner and the other two quarterfinal winners meet in a best-of-five semifinal series.  The semifinal winners meet in a best-of-five series for the league championship.
