This is the 2016-17 Ranchland Senior Hockey League season.  This is the league's 43rd season dating back to its founding for the 1974-75 season.

The league was shocked by the sudden lost of Gordon Campbell who was head coach of the Fort Macleod Mustangs on November 1st.  He died during a pre-game ceremony prior to the season opening home game against the Piikanai Regulators.

Membership Changes[]

The Eden Valley Arrows do not return after dropping out during the 2015-16 season.

Playoffs[]

Format[]

All four teams qualify for the playoffs. Both rounds were best-of-five. The league champion advanced to the provincial playoffs.

Semifinals[]

  • Nanton Palominos defeated Piikani Regulators 2 games to none (Series conceded after 17-2, 13-0 scores in games 1 and 2)
  • Fort Macleod Mustangs defeated Kainai Braves 3 games to 1

Final[]

  • Nanton Palominos defeatd Fort Macleod Mustangs 2 games to none (Series ended after Nantion won by 10-1 and 12-1 scores)
