This is the 2016-17 Ranchland Senior Hockey League season. This is the league's 43rd season dating back to its founding for the 1974-75 season.
The league was shocked by the sudden lost of Gordon Campbell who was head coach of the Fort Macleod Mustangs on November 1st. He died during a pre-game ceremony prior to the season opening home game against the Piikanai Regulators.

The Eden Valley Arrows do not return after dropping out during the 2015-16 season.

All four teams qualify for the playoffs. Both rounds were best-of-five. The league champion advanced to the provincial playoffs.
