2016-17 NCJHL Season

This is the 2016-17 National Capital Junior Hockey League season.  This is the league's 7th season under this name and 47th season overall dating back to its' founding as the Eastern Ontario Junior C Hockey League.

Membership Changes

• The Outaouais Jr. Academy, who were renamed from La Peche Predators prior to the 2015-16 season, leave the league.
• In March, 2017 the league announced that the Embrun Panthers would be joining the Central Canada Hockey League Tier 2 for the 2017-18 season.  At the same time the league announced the addition of former CCHL2 members the Metcalfe Jets and the South Grenville Rangers.
• In April, 2017, the league announced the addition of the Blackburn Inferno who are based out of the Blackburn Arena in the Blackburn Hamlet within the city of Ottawa. Pierre Thibaudeau will be owner and head coach of the team.  The league also announced the addition of the expansion Bytown Royals who will be based out of the Bernard-Grandmaître Arena in the Vanier neighborhood of Ottawa.

Format

The top eight teams qualify for the playoffs.  All rounds are best of seven.

Quarterfinals

• Embrun Panthers defeated Morrisburg Lions 4 games to none
• Gatineau Hull Volant defeated Papineauville Vikings 4 games to 3
• North Dundas Rockets defeated Cumberland Bandits 4 games to 2
• Vankleek Hill Cougars defeated Rockland Nationals 4 games to 1

Semifinals

• Embrun Panthers defeated Gatineau Hull Volant 4 games to none
• North Dundas Rockets defeated Vankleek Hill Cougars 4 games to none

Final

• Embrun Panthers defeated North Dundas Rockets 4 games to 1
