2016-17 MJAHL Season

This is the 2016-17 Maritime Junior A Hockey League season.  This is the league's 50th season dating back the league's founding in 1967 as the Metro Valley Junior Hockey League.

Membership Changes

• The County Aces were renamed the St. Stephen Aces
• On November 2, 2016 the league announced they approved the relocation of the Dieppe Commandos to Edmundston, New Brunswick for the 2017-18 season.  The team will be moving into the Jean-Daigle Centre which is presently under construction.  The facility will seat 2,400 and is scheduled to open in the fall of 2017.  On February 8th the team announced that they would be named the Edmundston Blizzard.

Kent Cup Playoffs

Format

The top four teams in each division qualified for the Kent Cup Playoffs. All three rounds will be best-of-seven. The playoff champion will advance to the 2017 Fred Page Cup which will be held in Terrebonne, Quebec.  The winner of that tournament will qualfiy for the 2017 Royal Bank Cup which is being held in Cobourg, Ontario.

Eastlink South Semifinals

• Amherst Ramblers defeated Pictou County Crushers 4 games to 3
• Truro Bearcats defeated Yarmouth Mariners 4 games to 1

Eastlink North Semifinals

• Miramichi Timberwolves defeated St. Stephen Aces 4 games to none
• Summerside Western Capitals defeated Dieppe Commandos 4 games to 2

Eastlink South Final

• Truro Bearcats defeated Amherst Ramblers 4 games to 1

Eastlink North Final

• Miramichi Timberwolves defeated Summerside Western Capitals 4 games to 1

Kent Cup Final
