This is the 2015-16 Atlantic Hockey Association season a NCAA Men's Division I Ice Hockey conference. This is the conference's 12th season under the Atlantic Hockey Association banner, and the conference's 17th overall season.
Membership changes[]
- None, however the American International Yellow Jackets announced they were moving their home games from the Olympia Ice Center to the MassMutual Center which is located about a mile from the campus of the University. The Olympia Ice Center is located about 6 miles (9km) off campus in West Springfield, Massachusetts and the Sacred Heart Pioneers annnounced they would move their home games to the Webster Bank Arena under a five-year agreement. The agreement included a dedicated locker room, training facilities, a team room, and coaches offices for the team.

Conference Tournament[]
Format[]
All teams qualify. The top 5 seeds earn a bye to the quarterfinals. The 6th place team played the 11th place team and 7-10, 8-9 also being paired off in a best-of-three series. The teams are re-seeded for the best-of-three quarterfinals, with 1 playing 8 and 2-7, 3-6, 4-5 also being paired off in a best-of-three series. The winners advance to the single game semifinals with those winners advancing to the conference championship game. The semifinal and final rounds will be held at the Blue Cross Arena in Rochester, New York on March 17-18, 2017. The conference tournament champion earns the conference's automatic bid to the 2017 NCAA Division I Men's Ice Hockey Tournament.
