This is the 2015-16 United States Hockey League season. This is the league's 39th season with junior teams. The league began play on September 26th with 17 active franchises plus one dormant franchise.
Membership changes[]
- On March 31, 2015 the USA Hockey foundation announced it had purchased the Compuware Arena in Plymouth, Michigan (which was the home of the Plymouth Whalers of the Ontario Hockey League). The USA Hockey National Team Development Program then announced they would be moving the teams operations to Plymouth after having been based out of the Ann Arbor Ice Cube since its' founding in 1996. USA Hockey announced the arena would be renamed to the USA Hockey Arena. The Plymouth Whalers would be relocated to Flint, Michigan and become the Flint Firebirds

Clark Cup Playoffs[]
Format[]
The top four teams in each conference qualify for the playoffs. The first place team plays the fourth place team and the second place team plays the third place team. The conference semifinal winners meet in the conference finals and the conference finals winners meet in the Clark Cup Final. All series are best-of-five. As this is presently the only Tier-I junior league in the United States there are no further playoffs beyond the league final.
