2015-16 North Central Hockey League (Alberta) Season

This is the 2015-16 North Central Senior Hockey League (Alberta) season.

Membership Changes[]

For the 2015-16 season the league added the Daysland Northstars from the Battle River Hockey League.
After the North Stars joined the league the BRHL eventually folded with three additional teams join the NCHL (Big Valley Oil Kings, Bonnyville Pontiacs, and Tofield Satellites) The lone remaining team (Lloydminster Border Kings declined to join the league.
The Drayton Valley Wildcats returned from a one year leave of absence. The team then announced on January 3, 2016 that they would be unable to complete their season. The remaining 3 games on their schedule were awarded to their opponents as 1-0 forfeits.

Playoffs[]

Format[]

The top four teams in each division qualify for the playoffs. The first place team plays the fourth place team and the second place team plays the third in the best-of-five division semifinals. The division semifinal winners meet in the division final and the division final winners meet in the best-of-five league championship.

North Division Semifinals[]

Bonnyville Pontiace defeated Whitecourt Wild 3 games to none (4-1, 3-2 (ot), 7-0)
Tofield Satellites defeated Morinville Kings 3 games to 1 (7-1, 7-5, 2-5, 7-4)

South Division Semifinals[]
